Last Day's of Summer: Coral Tones

Hello!

Summer is swiftly leaving us behind (where did it go this year?) as Autumn approaches. I'm actually not sad about that. Autumn is my time.

Autumn/Winter is undoubtedly my favourite season in the fashion calendar. I have friends who are all about the bronzed legs, cut-off shorts and strappy tops of the summer but seriously, give me fluffy knits, rich velvet and chunky boots over that every time.

That said, I am partial to a bit if sunshine, even though my complexion might suggest otherwise.

A few weekends ago, the sun seemingly came out of no where so me and the boy made the most of the nice weather by going out for a Sunday lunch at a pub down the road.

Whenever the weather's not grim (and it usually is in Manchester) and I have a bit of spare time, I always try and get an outfit post shot outside.

Black felt fedora hat- Primark
Sheer floral kimono- DivaDames*
Wu-tang Clan halter crop top- Forever 21
Riding Pants- American Apparel
Religion coral spike clutch bag- Psyche*
Cleated sole patent heels- ASOS

Kimonos have been my saviour for the past few months; they're so easy to just throw on over a summery top to keep the chill out when the sun goes behind the clouds. This one's from a new site I discovered called DivaDames who do lots of trend-led clothing at really good prices.

I found myself wearing lots of coral in this outfit. From the coral tones in the print of my kimono to the gorgeous colour of this Religion box clutch from Psyche. It's the perfect size for a night out for a bit of makeup, some money and your phone. Psyche stock lots of accessories including Michael Kors bags and watches, Olia jewellery and Ted Baker purses. I was pleased to see Religion in the lineup which has been one of my favourite brand's since I was about 13.

This clutch isn't really a colour I would usually choose but I'm glad I did as it adds a nice pop of colour to my typically all-black outfits. It also perfectly matches my new Loreal Colour Riche Intense lipstick that I picked up on a three-for-two offer a few weeks ago. It says that it's for blondes but who I am to be told what does and doesn't suit me!

Are you enjoying these infrequent bursts of nice weather?

White Witch

Hello!

Here's a quick outfit I snapped before heading to a little Manchester bloggers meet organised by the lovely Georgie which, handily, happened to be taking place just down the road from me- result!

Fedora- Primark
Necklace & Earrings- Punky Pins
Dress- Motel
Bag- Vivienne Westwood
Boots- eBay

I was in two minds on whether to buy this dress for ages. I loved it as soon as it came out but put off buying it for some reason, then it gathered momentum and started popping up on loads of blogs and I felt like everyone had it! Once it came back into stock I decided to buy it anyway- so glad! I've worn it loads of times since. You can't see here but the back of it's really cool.

I wore it with my new pieces from Punky Pins who do lots of awesome jewellery. I love the big pentagram necklace- feel proper witchy wearing it with this dress!

Massive thanks again to Georgie for organising the meet-up. She put loads of effort in and got us some amazing goody bags. You can read her post on the event, here.

The Dark Side

Hello!

This was a quick outfit taken just after Christmas (so probably looking decidedly pudgier in these photos!).

I took these the day after I died my hair all-over dark brown again to get rid of my home job dip dye that I'd grown bored of, as is pretty much always the case with my hair!

I've actually just bought a voucher for a cut and colour at Adee Phelan who I wanted to try for some time. My bleached ends are starting to come through the brown dye so I think it's definitely due- anyone else had this problem?

So yeah, looking to change up my look a bit- any suggestions? I quite fancied a full fringe but everyone I know has strongly contested the idea!

Tattoo-style choker- eBay
Mexican skull cardigan- Voodoo Vixen
T shirt- Evil Twin via ASOS (sale)
Leggings- Tinned Bananas
Boots- Jeffrey Campbell, Platrane

The dolls at Voodoo Vixen offered me the chance to choose an item to style up and review and while a lot of their clothing isn't necessarily my usual style (lots of lovely 50s-style vintage looks), I thought this grey argyle cardigan was really cool.

Love a good Mexican skull so the detail on the shoulders really stood out to me. The quality of this cardi is great too for the price (around £30).

Also wearing my new Evil Twin top I got in a bit of an ASOS sale spree. It's a nice oversize fit and has rarely been off my back at the weekends.

Do you remember when these chokers were all the rage? I used to wear them all the time as a moody teen. I had loads; including a set comprising of a neck choker, bracelet and ring in rainbow colours!

Have you bought anything good in the sales this month?

I've got an ultimate sale purch to show you soon!

Love,

Sun is Shining, Weather is Sweet

Hello!

Well today the weather has been gorgeous in Manchester (for once), so I couldn't resist getting my bum outside to take a few photos.

I'm not the biggest exhibitionist in the world and I actually go a bit shy faced with having to pose for my picture in front of passers by. I live in a flat so have no private garden to speak of so outfit pictures are always a little difficult for me.

There's no denying that they look better outdoors so today I decided to venture out to the park by my flat to take some photos in a 'quiet' area. Of course this wasn't the case; being typically grey Manchester, as soon as temperatures float over 12 degrees every Tom, Dick and Harry goes nuts and are running around with their man boobs out in public sooner than you can say "ya'rite!"

I managed to snatch a few snaps in a less busy part of the park and was shielded by a well-positioned tree, so here y'arr:

Sunglasses: Ray Ban (from duty free but some very reasonably priced Ray Ban Wayfarers here)
Cross earrings: Primark
T shirt: Charity Shop
Skirt: c/o Forever 21
Nike Low Blazers: c/o Get The Label

I found this very cool tie dye Bob Marley t shirt in a charity shop a couple of weeks ago. I do love a bit of Bob but I'm by no means the biggest reggae fan in the world (though am more than a bit partial to some ska) so I might sell this one on eBay and hope someone snaps it up for the festivals where I think it'd look great!

I'm absolutely in love with my new Blazers which I chose at the recent Get The Label blogger event. They're a really cool bright orange/red colour which matches my Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish number 12 lipstick perfectly. I'm loving this trainers revival- so comfy!

You also might have noticed that I've shaved the side of my head again! It's been just over a year since the last time I did it. I'm so bad with my hair, I constantly get bored with it and get the urge to do something drastic. All of the cool Tumblrs I follow with super hot babes with crazy coloured hair probably don't help...

I'm a rainbow too.

Hope you're enjoying the long weekend!

Jubi-late!

Hello!

This post has been long overdue- an outfit post from the Jubilee weekend, how long ago was that now?!

I'm not especially patriotic but since getting a job where I get weekends and Bank Holidays off as standard (first time in my life!), I though it'd be rude not to join in with the festivities.

Me and Chris went into town to the street parties going on all around the Northern Quarter.

I managed to throw together a pretty royally-inspired outfit, surprisingly.

Bowler hat: £3, Primark; Gold earrings: 50p, car boot sale; Gold 'K' necklace, Vintage, The Clothes Show Live; Parka, £15.99, army shop; Playsuit, £32, Blue Rinse; Bag, £8, vintage fair; 'Foxy' ring, gift, Wildfox; Boots, £60 (sale), Deena & Ozzy @ Urban Outfitters

I think I must have just picked the most typically English items out of my wardrobe- black bowler hat, military parka (even though it's technically Italian!), patent satchel, Chelsea boots...

I tried my best to do red, white and blue without looking like Geri Halliwell having fallen into a basket of bunting and face paint.

I wore red lipstick (Mac Red, Mac) and nails, blue and white floral on my playsuit and my new white heeled Chelsea boots.

The street party was really fun, we bought some drinks from a corner shop so I didn't spend much money and got steadily rather tipsy throughout the day!

Live street art and filming
Face painting and children's drawing
Main street party

I also baked scones for the occasion!

Hope everyone had a lovely time too, if you can even remember- was that long ago now!

Love,

Foxy
