On the Road Again...

I feel like I've been all over the place these past few weekends, visiting family and work stuff. Clifford the Clio has seen his fair share of the country and I've neglected my usual weekend duties of slobbing around in my onesie, shopping and doing a bit of blogging!

These snaps were grabbed just before setting off to Warwick to see Chris' parents a couple of weekends ago.

I'm wearing my new American Apparel high-waist jeans. After getting frustrated trying to find the perfect pair of vintage jeans, I flirted with the idea of getting the new Topshop 'Mom' ones; though I'd seen these and loved them but I do tend to find AA a bit over-priced. Luckily, an email popped into my inbox a while ago with a 30% off offer so I snapped them up. I had a nightmare getting the right size though so be warned- try them on in the shop first!

The old school Head holdall bag was quite the bargain- a £2.99 charity shop buy, perfect for a weekend away.

It was surprisingly sunny so I felt the need to break out the Bans for the first time this year! I don't know why but I enjoy driving so much more with a pair of sunglasses on.

I think sunglasses instantly make almost anyone 10x cooler; I recently watched David Lynch's Wild at Heart so for no reason other than they look awesome driving across America in a pair of shades, here's messed up lovers Sailor and Lula.

(Fairly obscure reference there but it's an awesome film- watch it!)

Rain and BBQ , a surprising winner

I hope everyone's had a fantastic long weekend for the Jubilee! I've got a little outfit post lined up but I had this one to do first- I'm so behind...

Okay so on Saturday I didn't do anything particularly regal; instead I took the opportunity to go shopping, which is quite rare really- I hate Saturday in town, it's so busy, much prefer to shop online!

It was quite a successful trip however, I bought these:

In the evening, me and the boyf went out for tea at Southern 11, Spinningfields, Manchester.

Chris (and me, admittedly) is a big fan of Man vs. Food and the food at Southern 11 is very much the same kind of stuff- think BBQ ribs, Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork etc. etc.

As much of a low maintenance girl as I am, I was a bit apprehensive about going somewhere like this on a 'date' night BUT I was pleasantly surprised!

The restaurant is gorgeous and lit with beautiful twinkly fairylights and the food was also amazing!

This looks a bit of a mess as it's half-eaten- too excited to remember to take the initial picture! Chris had the tasting platter, I had ribs

I wore some of my new purchases.

I love this dress! I've nipped it in with a belt but plan to wear it loose with sandals in warmer weather. I absolutely adore Blue Rinse, it's one of my favourite vintage shops. They sell a great selection of new, and re-worked clothes of their own design. I used to go when I was younger and living near Leeds, it always seems more 'authentic' than a lot of vintage shops- if that even makes sense!

I'm also in love with the Deena & Ozzy boots (bought at Urban Outfitters). I've been looking for a pair of ankle boots with a chunky heel for a while now; the sort I can wear to work and out for drinks without being too dressed up or down in heels or flats. I'd kill for some Acne Pistol Boots and I wish I'd snapped up the Topshop Ambush lookalikes whilst they were on sale but it wasn't to be. I actually like that these are white as most of my clothes are black. In all honesty, I'm not really a fan of Urban Outfitters; as nice as the clothes are, I find it incredibly overpriced. I was passing through and these caught my eye and half price from £120 to £60, I couldn't leave them!

It was raining when we went out for tea, hence the slightly dull oufit- such a contrast to my weekend outfit last week!

Bowler hats and beauty buys

Hello again! Wow, on it aren't I? Two posts in a matter of days!

To be honest I haven't got a great deal else to do as I'm off work for a week or so because I'm waiting for my CRB check to come through (another annoyance of working at an airport!).

You will also be pleased to hear that I got a marketing internship after Thursday's interview. Though, in a strange twist of events, it isn't with the charity that I applied for. They (the charity) thought another candidate was better suited to the organisation; however one of the interviewers liked me so much that she wants me to intern at her company!

So yeah, off work for the time being, I took some sneaky photos whilst I was alone in the flat yesterday because I rather liked my outfit (N.B: I was popping out to town- I DON'T look like this when lounging about doing nothing). Here it is...

Beauty-ful Buys


Yes so beauty! Not my usual forté ey?

A little something about me: I love ANYTHING coconut flavoured/scented and I have scoured the earth (okay, several shops in England) for a decent, but not expensive (I still refuse to pay what the Body Shop charge for most of their smellies!) coconut shower wash.

Ladies... I believe I have found the answer.

I spotted this new range in Bodycare and thought I'd give it a go. I got the shower cream at 79p (I believe) and the dry shampoo at, I think, £1.49.

I can confirm that both products are excellent! The shower cream is amazing value for money- it's really rich, with loads of lather and smells amazing!

The dry shampoo was impressive too. It's a bit cheaper than Batiste and smells really nice. To be honest I find some of the Batiste fragrances a bit sickly and overpowering but this one smells gorgeous. I'm converted!

The brand is called Inecto (yep, never heard of it!) and unfortunately, neither of my products, from the 'Pure Coconut' range are on the website! I assure you that they're still in the Bodycare stores.

I think I'll be trying the body scrub and moisturising lotion next.
